This Diploma course is designed to develop the knowledge and competencies required to be a clinical supervisor. At the centre of the course’s design is the training of ethical practitioners, working at high clinical standards. There is a focus on the relational dimensions – the relationship between client and counsellor and the relationship between counsellor and supervisor.
Successful completion of this course means you can be added to the Matrix list of approved supervisors.
UKCP registrants who complete the course can also be added to the UKCP Directory of Supervisors.

The Course is taught over seven two-day units, held Saturday and Sunday 9:30 to 5.15 pm

Group size: Approx 12 participants
Attendance requirements: 80%
Entry requirements: 3 years post registration (download for full requirements)
Fees: £2750
Early Bird: £2500 (if applied for/booked by 6th November 2026)
A non-refundable deposit of £250 is required to secure your place. Students can pay in monthly instalments.
Additional Costs: Students are required to have a minimum of 10 hours of supervision of supervision with a UKCP Registered or BACP Accredited (or equivalent) practitioner who meets the Matrix requirements for entry onto the Matrix Supervision Directory. This will cost approximately £600.
Application Process
Applicants are required to send in a current CV which demonstrates their experience (including number of years in practice) and provide evidence of their qualification and date of registration. Please include the reasons for wanting to complete the supervision training. In addition, we ask for a letter of recommendation from a current supervisor. Please send both to nikkita@matrix.ac.uk
Applications will be read by both tutors. If successful at this stage, applicants will then be invited to a 30 minute Zoom interview with one or both of the tutors.
